Oki, Dadánast’áda, Âba Wathtec, Tânisi, Taanishi, Bonjour, Hello Parents and Caregivers,

Transportation Registration is Now Open

Families are now able to register for school bus service for the 2025-26 school year using their MyCBE account.

Families must register by Sunday, June 22, 2025 for students to be added to bus routes for the start of the next school year.

CBE Transportation will continue to accept registrations after the deadline; however, students are added to the closest existing bus stop with available space. Processing times for registrations submitted after the June 22 deadline will be delayed. Confirmed routes are posted in late August. For those who register after the June 22 deadline, it may take until mid-October before those students are able to ride the bus.

Blackfoot Value of the Month: Mookakiit Iikakiimaat

The value we are focusing on in the month of June is Mookakiit Iikakiimaat (pronounced moh-kah-geet ee-kah-kee-maht) can be translated as "Perseverance" or "Try hard and don't give up."

Mookakiit Iikakiimaat emphasizes the importance of resilience, determination, and sustained effort in the face of adversity. It reflects the belief that success and growth come not through ease, but through continued commitment—even when challenges seem overwhelming.

In traditional Blackfoot life, perseverance was essential for survival—whether through long hunts, harsh winters, or difficult journeys. This value continues to be vital in contemporary life, encouraging individuals to remain steadfast and strong, even when the path is uncertain.

For students and teachers, Mookakiit Iikakiimaat is a reminder to:

  • Keep striving for learning and growth, even when things are difficult.
  • Support one another with patience and encouragement.
  • Understand that mistakes are part of the journey and not a reason to stop.

It’s a powerful teaching that resonates especially during demanding times—like the end of a school year—when energy is low and the work feels heavy. It calls us to press on with heart, purpose, and the belief that effort leads to meaningful change.
