A Blackfoot Teaching on Gratitude

In Blackfoot culture, gratitude is more than words—it is a way of life. A traditional teaching reminds us that when we show appreciation for one another and the gifts around us, we strengthen our relationships and create balance in our community. Gratitude is expressed not only by saying “thank you,” but through the care and respect we show each other every day.

Meet the Teacher Pancake Breakfast

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the students and families who joined us for our Meet the Teacher Pancake Breakfast on Friday. It was wonderful to see such a strong turnout—there were many smiling faces, sticky fingers, and full tummies after a delicious meal!

We are especially grateful to Elder Jackie Bromley for sharing her wisdom and blessing our students, families, teachers, and community with her words. A big thank-you also goes to the Batter Boys for cooking a mountain of pancakes with good humour and energy, and to the CBE Indigenous Education Team, who worked alongside us to set up, serve, and clean up. Your generosity of time and effort truly made the morning a success.

To our teachers and staff, we deeply appreciate the energy, patience, and care you give to make special events possible. Your commitment to ensuring our students feel safe, happy, and supported is evident in all that you do.

Transportation Update

Thank you for your patience as we continue to adjust bus routes, timing, and registrations during this busy start-up period. Each September, we process nearly 100 student transportation changes to ensure that families are supported, and students are safely transported. A special note of appreciation goes to our office team, Leanne and Mira, whose behind-the-scenes work ensures that our buses run as smoothly as possible.

As routes continue to be adjusted, we kindly remind families to arrive at the bus stop 5–10 minutes before the scheduled pick-up time. Up-to-date route information is always available in your MyCBE Parent Account for your review.
