Blackfoot Value of the Month: Atsiimoyihkaan – I can take on tasks independently
Oki, Dadánastáda, Âba Wathtec, Tânisi, Taanishi, Bonjour, Hello Families,
Mookakiit Iikakiimaat
As we move into the final few weeks of the school year, we want to acknowledge how hard our students and staff have worked together. This month, we are focusing on the Blackfoot value Mookakiit iikakiimaat—I can persevere and try hard. In Blackfoot teachings, many stories remind us that growth comes through patience, effort, and not giving up, even when the path feels difficult. Like the plants and animals preparing for the changing season, our students have continued to learn, practice, try again, and grow. We are proud of their perseverance and grateful for the care, encouragement, and dedication shown by our teachers, staff, and families throughout the year.
TC Energy School Breakfast
On Tuesday, June 2, students will enjoy breakfast on the front lawn generously sponsored by TC Energy. Students will join together for a continental-style breakfast featuring muffins, yogurt, cheese, and fruit.
This gathering is intended to bring our school community together to share food, connect with one another, and begin the day in a positive way. Teachers will support students with transitions and encourage all students to participate in a calm and respectful manner. We are grateful to TC Energy for supporting our students and school community.
Grade 3–6 Science Fair – June 9, 1:30-3:00 PM
We are excited to invite parents and families of students in Grades 3–6 to join us for our Science Fair on Tuesday, June 9, from 1:30-3:00 pm. Through a special partnership with William Yeung and generous funding provided by the Calgary Foundation, students have been exploring a variety of science topics, asking thoughtful questions, conducting investigations, and preparing to share their learning with others.
Students are very excited to present their projects to families, special guest judges, and members of our school community. There will also be prizes for participants as we celebrate students’ curiosity, creativity, perseverance, and hard work. We hope you can join us for this exciting showcase of student learning!
