A Year-End Message from the Principal

Oki Piitoayis Families,

As another school year comes to a close, I would like to take a moment to reflect with gratitude on the many experiences, achievements, and relationships that have strengthened our school community this year.

At Piitoayis Family School, we believe that learning happens through connection—to culture, to community, to the land, and to one another. Throughout the year, our students have demonstrated the Piitoayis Values in countless ways. They have shown Kimmapiiypitsinni (Kindness) through caring for one another, Kakyosin (Awareness) through their learning and personal growth, Mookaakit iikaakiimaat (Be Wise, Try Hard) through perseverance and effort, and Aatsimmoiyihkanni (Ceremony) by honouring culture, traditions, and community.

I would also like to extend my deepest appreciation to our parents, guardians, grandparents, caregivers, and families. The work you do each day often happens quietly behind the scenes. You wake children up for school, help with homework, attend school events, provide encouragement, offer comfort during difficult moments, and celebrate successes both big and small. Your dedication, love, and support make an incredible difference in the lives of our students.

Thank you for trusting us to be part of your child's learning journey. Education is strongest when schools and families work together, and your partnership continues to be one of the greatest strengths of our school community.

As we move into summer, I encourage everyone to take time to rest, reconnect with family, spend time on the land, and enjoy the gifts of the season. Summer provides opportunities to strengthen relationships, create memories, and return refreshed for another year of learning.

Looking ahead, we are excited to welcome students back for the 2026–2027 school year. Staff will participate in orientation on August 26–28, and the first day of school for students is Monday, August 31, 2026.

On behalf of the entire Piitoayis Family School staff, thank you for a wonderful year. We wish you a safe, healthy, and joyful summer.

May we continue to walk together in a good way, guided by kindness, awareness, wisdom, hard work, and respect for one another.

Hand to Heart,
