Oki, Tânsi, Aba Wathtech, Hello PFS Families,
As we come to the close of another school year and enter into the summer season, we take a moment to give thanks — to the Creator, to the land that sustains us, and to each of you for walking alongside us in support of our children.
Summer is a time of renewal, ceremony, and connection. In many Indigenous ways of knowing, this is the season when the land becomes our classroom. It is a time to be with family, to gather medicines, to listen to the stories of our Elders, and to reflect on the teachings we've received throughout the year.
We are proud of the growth we’ve witnessed in our students — not just in their academics, but in their spirit, their identity, and their sense of belonging. Piitoayis Family School is a place where culture and community meet, and it is your love, resilience, and support that make this circle strong.
As you spend time on the land this summer — whether it’s in ceremony, by the water, in the mountains, or in your backyard — may you find peace, joy, and healing. Encourage your children to listen to the wind, to observe the animals, and to share laughter with loved ones. These are the gifts of the season, and they carry deep teachings.
We look forward to welcoming you back in the fall with renewed energy and continued commitment to nurturing each child’s whole being — heart, mind, body, and spirit. The first day of school is Sept 2, 2025.
Until then, travel safely, rest deeply, and continue to carry the strength of your ancestors.
With gratitude and respect,
Crystal Good Rider
